All around me people are concerned or fearful about the economy and more importantly their own finances. We, as Christians, should have a different perspective. I am reminded of Proverbs 14:34 which states: Righteousness exalteth a nation; but sin is a reproach to any people.  I think that we need to emphasize being examples of Christ and lead through our lifestyle.  I think that some have been seduced by the power of politics and have sought to change the culture more through legislation than through prayer.  There are some who have adopted the “gospel of prosperity”  and have become insular in their thinking.  In that, some have sought the material before the spiritual.  And yes, there are those who have been praying for this nation and for those in authority.  I believe that now is the time for Christians to come together and begin interceding for our neighbors and our nation.  As I read my bible and recall the lessons of the nation of Israel, it is only when they put God first that they truly prospered and were able to defeat any and all enemies.  2 Chronicles 7:14 says: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.  So the question is as Christians have we become arrogant?  Are we truly praying??  Are we seeking to know God and His will? Are we living a life that is pleasing to Him?  This nation needs the believers of the One True God to take a stand for God and to pray, seek and repent so that we and those who are outside the church will be comforted and healed.  I thank the Lord that He is merciful and kind, that He gives us the opportunity to change our circumstances.
